“No elections or voting this summer!! It’s nonsense to plan elections during active combat!” said Zelensky's chief aide Yermak. “First we win the war, then we hold votes!”
Here in the United States, we suffered a Civil War in the 1860's; actual combat, amongst ourselves, on our own soil. Yet WE still held an election for President. What's Ukraine's excuse?
The simple fact is, something can very likely be worked out with Russia to halt the combat so an election can take place safely.
It would be in Russia's interests to do that because, as should be obvious, a new elected President in Ukraine might have very different policies toward Russia, thereby bringing an end to the combat permanently.
So it seems to most people that the Russians would be at least amenable to taking steps to assure a safe day or two for an election.
Yet Zelensky and his regime say "no."
Ukraine has already lost over one million men in combat. They are so pressed for soldiers, they are forcibly kidnapping men on the streets and sending them to the army front lines. It's nothing more than a meat grinder now, and Ukraine is losing; badly.
Yet Zelensky and company still say "no elections."
Voldymyr Zelensky's term of office EXPIRED last May. He is no longer operating with constituted authority.
That makes him a Dictator.
