British Prime Minister Kier Starmer will convene an Emergency meeting of European Heads-of-State today, in London, after relations between Ukraine and the United States imploded during a White House argument earlier this week.
During a 46 minute meeting earlier this week between Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky, President Donald Trump, and Vice-President JD Vance, tensions exploded in the Oval Office when Zelensky challenged JD Vance suggestion that Diplomacy and negotiation with Russia is the only solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
That lead to six minutes of disastrous exchange between Zelensky, Vance and Trump. During that heated exchange, President Trump explicitly told Zelensky, "We're either going to have a deal (on Minerals for the United States) or we're out."
Most observers took that to mean the US would be "out" of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
After the heated argument, Zelensky and his delegation were told they had to LEAVE the White House. The formal lunch, and scheduled Press Conference, were both canceled.
Zelensky departed the White House and, on a later TV interview on FOX NEWS CHANNEL, Zelensky said he would not apologize and would not return to the White House - although no one asked him to.
Almost immediately after Zelensky departed, the US State Department announced the United States was halting funding the rebuild of Ukraine's electrical grid.
There is, at present, mixed information as to whether or not the US is continuing to supply weapons, ammunition, and other aid to Ukraine. Again, no confirmation that any such aid has been stopped (yet).
Today's meeting in London is expected to provide a lot of cheering for Ukraine, but no concrete anything else. Europe is financially broke and militarily weak. It is not certain, at all, what Europe will be able to do, to step-in as the US steps out.
