F-35 Lightning II Stealth Fighter Crashes, Explodes, Lemoore Naval Air Station, California

Officials and emergency crews are currently on scene at Lemoore Naval Air Station in Fresno County, California, after an F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter, jet belonging to either the U.S. Navy or Marine Corps, crashed and exploded.

Authorities confirm the pilot successfully ejected and was transported to a hospital for evaluation and possible injuries.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and Cal Fire are assisting at the scene as federal investigators prepare to take over the investigation.
