Radiation Alerts are going off in Ukraine. People in the town of Kropyvnytskyi are being told to "take cover" and that Brick and/or concrete buildings are the best protection from "ionizing radiation" as are basements!
The scalable map below shows the city location of the radiation alerts:
The radiation alert, going out over cellular networks and on TV and radio are all telling people to take cover immediately.
Below is a machine-translated cellular phone alert:

No details are presently available about why this radiation alert has been issued. No word about any specific target that may have been hit, that may be leaking radiation. No claim anywhere of any type of nuclear explosion.
Here is the original, Ukraine-language Radiation Alert:

HAL TURNER INITIAL REACTION
As of 6:08 PM EDT, we still have no indication why this alert went out, or if it is real or in-error. We still do not have any reports specific target being hit in this area which may have any relation to radiation. We still have no claim whatsoever, from anyone, of any nuclear-type explosion.
My initial reaction to this is severe: NATO made clear to Russia that if any nuclear radiation "drifts from Ukraine into a NATO member country, that NATO will treat the drifting radiation as an "attack" and will Invoke "Article 5 Collective Self Defense" then enter the conflict on the side of Ukraine."
Russia has made clear that if NATO invokes Article 5, "Collective Self Defense" against Russia, "there will be no winner." As all of us know, the only war where the "is no winner" is a nuclear war.
This city is in the very heart of geographical Ukraine. At this hour, prevailing winds in that area show a movement of NORTHEAST TO WEST (toward Poland) and SOUTHWEST toward Romania):

UPDATE 7:59 PM EDT --
Despite my best efforts, and after having been able to speak to several sources, I cannot verify there is actually __any__ radiation contamination or leak.
IT IS UNDENIABLE THAT THE ALERTS WENT OUT.
It is also undeniable that absolutely no source is verifying any aspect of this. It's like a LID has been SLAMMED on any and all information.
One source told me "a device that sloppy Ukrainians were working on, revealed itself. Now everyone has to scramble to conceal what they were working on"
I spoke to a nuclear ordnance guy. I asked him "What is the maximum distance at which an UN-detonated nuclear warhead can be detected?" He replied "6 to 60 meters, and then, only under ideal conditions." 60 meters is only about 200 feet.
I then asked, "What is the maximum distance that a potential "Dirty Bomb" can be detected?" He replied "It depends upon the material they are using in the dirty bomb, but even the most potent radioactive material can only be detected tens-of-meters away - at most 150 meters - when completely unshielded."
He added "If someone was working on a dirty bomb, with a powderized radioactive component, and that device went off accidentally inside a building, then the powdered radioactive debris would be hurled into the air, depending upon how badly the building it was in, was damaged. So if someone was doing sloppy work and caused an accident, there could be radiation detected at a distance."
This information was helpful. But since no one is talking, I have nothing further that I can reliably report.
