UPDATED 11:09 PM EST -- FLASH: U.S. Consulate in Erbil, Iraq, Hit By Ballistic Missiles - Serious Damage - Iran Admits They Did it

Initial reports CLAIM the United States Consulate in Erbil, Iraq has been hit by Ballistic Missiles. There is allegedly "significant damage."  Iran has announced "In response to the terrorist attacks that targeted Iranian citizens in Kerman, leadership sites and gatherings of terrorist organizations in Syria were targeted with a number of Iranian ballistic missiles.

In short, Iran has allegedly fired ballistic missiles from their own territory, into another country, to strike a US Consulate.  That seems, on its face, to be an "act of war."

I'm not a military scholar, and do not have keen knowledge of what constitutes a Casus Belli (cause for war) but it sure looks to me as though Iran just served themselves up on a platter for the US to declare war upon them.

Video of the missile hits is on its way to me and will be uploaded shortly.

Developing . . .  check back.

This is necessary because this is a CLOUD-BASED web site.  The way it works is YOU READ . . . I GET BILLED for "Data Transfer."

Despite being politely asked for voluntary donations, few people ever bothered to donate. Then, despite being asked to click an ad within a story to generate ad revenue for this site, the majority of the general public couldn't be bothered with that, either. So there's no reason to give the general public free news anymore; they don't pull their own weight.

With tens-of-thousands of people reading stories here every day, the costs nearly drove the site out of business.

In order to be able to continue providing cutting-edge news, often hours or even DAYS before Drudge and most of the "mass-media" -- if they even cover it at all -- I need to be able to sustain this effort. To do that, I rely on folks like YOU contributing a pittance of about $1 a week;  which is chump-change that you won't even miss!  Yet that small amount makes all the difference in the world to the continued existence of this web site.

In the final analysis, knowledge is power.  Getting information first, or info that other sources simply don't report, is usually well worth a few bucks in the long run.

(IRGC) has announced in a second statement that it has destroyed the gathering places of leaders and key elements linked to the recent terrorist crimes in Kerman and Rasak, Syria, with ballistic missiles as part of the missile operation conducted an hour ago.

According to Sepah News, following the missile operation on a "spy headquarters and gathering place of anti-Iran terrorist groups in parts of the region," the IRGC issued statement number 2, which reads as follows:

-----------------------

"In the name of Allah,

'Those who fight have been wronged, and indeed Allah is capable of granting them victory.'

To the dear and honorable Islamic people of Iran,

In response to the recent crimes committed by terrorist groups, and the unjust martyrdom of members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and a group of our dear citizens in Kerman and Rasak;
The gathering places of the leaders and key elements associated with the recent terrorist operations;
Specifically, ISIS organization in the occupied territories in Syria was identified and destroyed by launching a number of ballistic missiles.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps assures the great Iranian nation that it will find and punish the malignant terrorist groups wherever they are for their disgraceful actions.

Other destroyed targets will be announced later."

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in its third announcement, has declared the launch of Baran missiles and the destruction of "a Mossad (Zionist regime's intelligence agency) spy headquarters in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq."

This is likely to have __also__ been the US Consulate in Erbil.

So in one fell swoop, Iran has hit both the US and Israel, with Ballistic missiles, inside Iraq.

Trouble is, a "Consulate" is the territory of the country it represents.  So if Iran hit the US Consulate, then they have fired missiles against "U.S. sovereign territory" thus opening themselves up to not only a US war, but "Collective self defense" by NATO, since the US can now say "we have been attacked."

Anyone looking for the official start of World War 3, has likely just found it; especially since Iran and Russia have mutual defense treaties.

DENIAL !

The United States is saying that the Iran missile strike was "near" the US Consulate but "no American facilities were hit and no Americans were injured or killed."

Now, this flies in the face of initial reports telling me there was "severe damage" to the US Consulate.

I'm working to verify the claims and facts.

It has already been suggested to me that "neither the US nor Israel would be inclined to admit a successful Iran missile attack on them in Iraq."  So this DENIAL could be the start of a cover up.

Or, perhaps the initial reports were simply wrong.

Fog of war.  Lots of chaos.  Lots of inaccurate info.

Sorting through it as best I can.
