Given the virtual "knife's edge" being walked by NATO with regard to entering the Ukraine-Russia conflict, every move made by NATO or a NATO member Country is now subject to intense and severe scrutiny. One step too far can be the single spark that ignites actual World War 3 - complete with nuclear exchanges.
Intel from France indicates President Emmanuel Macron will "address the nation" this Thursday night.
The Intel indicates he will inform the French people of his decision as to whether or not France will send active duty military troops into Ukraine against Russia.
At this moment, Intel does not know -- or isn't telling ME -- the answer to that question.
France is five hours AHEAD of the US Eastern Time Zone, so it will be late afternoon here in the US when Macron makes his address.
Intel Assessments that have been conveyed to me, reflect the following:
- Macron is upping the ante and playing escalation in Ukraine with bad cards in hand.
- There is no unity in the European Union and NATO on the issue of sending troops into Ukrainian territory.
- French ground forces are not ready for direct confrontation with the Russian army.
