Azerbaijan demands that Armenia "demilitarize, de-nazify, no longer contain Azerbaijan on behalf of foreign (Western) powers, stop obstructing regional trade routes, and allow ethnically cleansed Azeris to return...
This is nothing more than another head-chopper hedgemon ... just like Zionist treachery -- claiming/whining as if it is a 'victim.'
At present, the border of Armenia goes all the way to Iran and both Armenia and Iran expect it to stay that way. But Azerbaijan claims a territory called "Nakhchivan" (highlighted in red above) which is southwest of Armenia, and is landlocked to-from Azerbaijan. In order for anyone in Azerbaijan to get to Nakhchivan, or vice-versa, they must travel briefly through Armenian or Iranian territory.
Azerbaijan wants a "corridor" open for unmolested travel to/from Nakhchivan. But in order to do that, Armenia would have to give up its border with Iran. Neither Armenia nor Iran want that.
So Azerbaijan is now pushing the issue. Not because Nakchivan is of any special importance, but rather because they want to isolate Iran on behalf of . . . . ISRAEL . . . . to cut off Iran land routes out of Iran into Armenia and later, into Europe, and for TURKEY, which wants to "unify" the Turkish world.
This *entire* "issue" is nothing more than Israel continuing to try to cut-off and isolate Iran.
This idea of a corridor, which Azerbaijan refers to as the "Zangezur corridor" is a concept for a transport corridor which, if implemented, would give Azerbaijan unimpeded access to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic without Armenian checkpoints via Armenia's Syunik Province and, in a broad sense, for the geopolitical corridor that would connect Turkey to the rest of the Turkic world thereby "uniting it". The concept was not part of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement but was introduced to geopolitical lexicon later by Azerbaijan's (Hook nosed) Dictator Ilham Aliyev. Aliyev came to power from his father, and has een "President" of Azerbaijan as long as Bashar Assad lead Syria. But Assad wouldn't kowtow to the Israelis so HE was ousted as a "Dictator" while Aliyev can do anything he wants to his people and not be smeared as a "Dictator."
The idea of the Zangezur Corridor has since been promoted by Azerbaijan and Turkey, while Armenia has steadily objected to it, asserting that "corridor logic" deviates from the ceasefire statement, and that it is a form of propaganda.
The terminology, the potential routes, and the modes of transport connections have since been points of contention between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which are still maintaining a mutual blockade since 1989. Azerbaijan has initiated construction projects on its territory presenting them as part of the implementation of a so-called "Zangezur corridor" and threatened that should Armenia not want it, Azerbaijan "will decide it by force".
During 2021 trilateral talks, Armenia expressed willingness to participate in rebuilding the Soviet-era railway links historically connecting Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan, which Azerbaijan interpreted as Armenian consent to the "Zangezur corridor". According to Russia, the third party, what is being discussed is unblocking regional communications, and not creating a "corridor".
Various international observers have characterized the "Zangezur corridor" as a pan-Turkist agenda, drawing from irredentism, while others have emphasized the solution to the blockade as a key aspect. Certain political analysts have emphasized Russia's interest in its development, given that it would ostensibly be the security guarantor of the route.
Today's new demands by Azerbaijan against Armenia are clear signs the Azerbaijanis intend to attack Armenia - again.
