At about 11:00 PM eastern US time last night (Sunday), a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) over Russia's Kapustin Yar test site, came into effect. This is the site from which a ORESHNIK Hypersonic Missile was launched against Ukraine last time.
The map below shows the NOTAM information:
The NOTAM coincided with the end of Russia's 3 day ceasefire in honor of Victory Day - the 80th Anniversary of the Victory over NAZIs in World War 2.
Ukraine refused to honor that ceasefire, and attacked Russian positions upwards of fifteen thousand (15,000) times during that Russian-declared ceasefire.
Whether this NOTAM is for new ORESHNIK launches against Ukraine is not known.
What __is__ known is that no missile defense system on earth is capable of shooting down an Oreshnik. The speed of the missile, some say 6700 miles per hour, and multiple warheads, make it an unstoppable weapons system.
Video below shows what it looked like in Ukraine the first time an Oreshnik came down.
As seen in the video above, six separate batches of projectiles come out of the sky so fast, no missile defense system on the planet could intercept them
What was most stunning about this strike is that the six warheads released multiple "Bomblets" before they impacted. That's why there are six, separate "showers" of fire from the sky . . . the bomblets came down ahead of the warheads which carried them, and those bomblets and warheads were moving so fast, they generated enough heat to look like fire coming from the sky.
AFTERMATH
The image below shows what was left of a very large Ukrainian weapons factory after the hit. The kinetic energy of the warheads traveling so fast, destroyed the entire structure down to the sub-basements:
The NOTAM for Kapustin Yar is now in effect and will remain in effect until Tuesday, May 13. The clock is ticking.
