Went to my Cardiologist today, routine check up. EKG is fine. BP is a little high; I have to lose ten pounds (Holiday gorging) to get the BP back down. My body has some sort of biological "switch" in it. If I am 227 pounds or less, my BP is fine. The moment I go over 227 pounds, wham, my BP jumps 20 points.
So I'll cut out the Oreos, the Entenman's Chocolate donuts and the like. The weight will come off in about two weeks.
Everything else is fine. I feel good.
Told the Doc I got really sick a few weeks ago; fever of 102.6, congested sinuses, sore throat, congestion and cough in lungs and all. He asked if I went to a Doctor? I replied "no." I told him I had Augmentin 875mg antibiotic that I took every 12 hours for seven days. I said "If it was Bacterial, the Augmentin would kill it, if it wasn't Bacterial, there's nothing else to be done anyway." He asked where I got the Augmentin? I told him I keep reserve in an emergency kit at the house. He looked surprised.
I told him that my wife wondered if I had COVID and that I told her, "if I do, there's nothing they can do anyway because my own body HAS to create antibodies for it. So as long as I can breathe, which I can, even if it __is__ COVID, it will simply have to run its course." He grinned. I think he KNEW I was right.
Told him the whole sick thing took about 10 days from start to finish, with days 7 and 8 the worst on account of the fever. But I pulled through just fine.
He didn't even ASK me if I had been vax'd, which I haven't. I'm quite sure it is noted somewhere in my record.
So all in all, uneventful.
Life goes on . . . .
