PHONE AND INTERNET OUTAGES HIT AUSTRALIA - MILLIONS WITHOUT PHONES

Internet and VoIP phone calls for millions of Australians are out at this hour. Authorities say they're investigating possible cyberattack as trains and other major infrastructure "disrupted" in most of Australia.

It also took out the train system in Melbourne.

This is why I tell my readers, and listeners to my radio show, YOU MUST HAVE COMMS GEAR.   Get a CB Radio or a HAM (Shortwave) radio.  You **MUST** have some means of communication if the systems go down.

Gov't down there says they have no idea why the systems are down, or when they might be back up.

Think about such a thing happening HERE.  Where we are.

How would you communicate with loved ones?   If you had a CB, you could do so for several, maybe even ten to twenty miles, if they - or you - are in their car and you have a Base station radio.

This stuff is not expensive and it really CAN help in a jam.

UPDATE 5:02 PM EST --

This outage has also taken down ALL ELECTRONIC PAYMENT PROCESSING.   Credit/Debit cards DO NOT WORK!

What do I constantly tell all of you about having cash?
