POPE: Two incidents of "Severe Respiratory Distress"

The Vatican in Rome, Italy, reports that Pope Francis suffered two bouts of "severe respiratory inadequacy" requiring him to be placed on a non-invasive ventilator today.  He has been hospitalized for 19 days with respiratory trouble.

This is a significant setback from yesterday, where the Pope was described as resting comfortably and showing improvement.
