The "LISTEN LIVE" links to the Hal Turner Radio Show audio feed now only appear to Subscribers to this web site. The free Radio Station links remain available to the general public, but those links do not have anywhere near the listener capacity of my servers, so if you try to use those links, you may not be able to get in if their servers are full.
If you Subscribe, the LISTEN LIVE links will appear in their usual place once you've logged-in AND RE-LOADED THE MAIN PAGE.
To Subscribe and gain instant access, use the "SUBSCRIBE" link along the top of the web page.
UPDATE 11:28 PM EST --
The numbers are in and, as best as we can see, I lost about 700 listeners on account of the Listen Live links being behind subscription.
This is a broad estimate but probably pretty close.
The free radio station feeds picked up 165 above average on the WWCR feed, and WBCQ hit it's Max of 100 listeners so that was Plus 71 over usual.
My feed had about 1650 peak simultaneous listeners, which was at least 1000 less than usual.
So if we add in the WWCR above average and the WBCQ Max to the number on my feed, then I am down about 714 listeners.
That is considerable amount of bandwidth that is NO LONGER going to freeloaders!
Now, there __are__ a number of new subscribers, some of whom have not yet activated their accounts because they chose PAY-BY-MAIL and it will take time for their subscription payment to arrive by mail.
So overall, putting the free audio stream behind Subscription caused me to take a large hit in listeners, but that will convert to a savings on bandwidth from people who refused to subscribe for a Buck a week, but who still took my feed when it was free.
Overall, this may end up being a net positive for me. After all, the people who won't spend a buck a week, probably weren't donating either. Now, they're out.
