UPDATED 10:28 AM EDT - AMERICAN PASSPORTS **REFUSED** ENTRY INTO EGYPT-- REPORTS: Rafah Border Crossing "Permanently Closed" As Army Installs Cement Wall

We are receiving reports this morning that the Egyptian Army has "permanently closed" the Rafah Border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, by installing "an impenetrable cement wall."

Endeavoring to verify this astonishing claim.

Check back . . .

9:07 AM EDT --

The image added to the top of this story confirms the Egyptian Army is installing a giant cement wall along the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip!

UPDATE 9:53 AM EDT --

Egypt, Israel and the United States agree to allow foreigners in Gaza to pass through the Rafah border crossing into Egypt, according to a senior State Department official.

UPDATE 10:28 AM EDT --

Egypt refused the passage of American citizenship holders through the Rafah crossing OUT of Gaza, unless an agreement included the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.   So now, Egypt is basically telling the US, pay money into GAZA or your citizens cannot come into Egypt from Gaza.  They will be trapped there.

(HT Remark: This shit just gets better and better every day.  Dealing with the Arabs and Israelis is like a nightmare none of us can wake up from.)
