Conflicting reports coming into the Intel Community from Sudan after a military transport plane, a Russian Il-76, was downed near Babanusa in West Kordofan State, pinpointed on the map below:
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) claimed responsibility, saying everyone on board was killed, while other sources suggest the crash was caused by a technical failure.
The Rapid Support Forces are a Sudanese paramilitary force formerly operated by the government of Sudan. Preceded by the Janjaweed militias used by the Sudanese government during the War in Darfur and restructured as a paramilitary organization in August 2013, the RSF mobilized its forces against the Sudanese government in 2023, initiating the ongoing civil war in Sudan.
The fact that the RSF "claimed responsibility" indicates to most logical people that this incident is clearly an effort to force Russia into yet ANOTHER military conflict somewhere other than Ukraine.
It is clearly an effort to stretch Russia thin, to make them want to stop the fighting in Ukraine.
Ergo, logic seems to indicate the collective West had its dirty fingers in this incident.
