Russia blames Kiev for deadly Moscow blast

The murder of journalist Darya Dugina was committed by a Ukrainian national, the Russia Federal Security Service claims.

The car bombing outside Moscow on Saturday night, which took the life of journalist Darya Dugina, was orchestrated and carried out by Ukrainian secret services, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has said.

Dugina was killed while returning from a conservative family festival held in Moscow Region. She was the daughter of anti-Western author and political commentator Aleksandr Dugin. Like her father, she was known for her vocal support of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

In a statement on Monday, the FSB said that Ukrainian national Natalya Vovk, born in 1979, carried out the bombing.

According to the FSB, Vovk arrived in Russia with her teenage daughter on July 23 and rented an apartment in the building in Moscow where the victim also lived.

Investigators say the bomb in the car she was driving, was triggered by remote detonation; so whoever did this knew she was the one in the car.

No Diplomatic Solution

Meanwhile, in related news, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva told media: "We do not see the possibility of a diplomatic solution in Ukraine and expect a long conflict."

HAL TURNER EDITORIAL OPINION

If there was still some restraint on Putin for a massive strike on Ukraine, followed by a big offensive, it all went poof after Dugina being murdered.

It is irrelevant WHO did it. Blaming one side or the other is just philosophical, and will be written in the history books by the WINNER.

What is relevant is that this assassination is an escalation, and will be followed by a bigger escalation...and so on.

It's not like this assassination - in and of itself - is a trigger for anything, but surely adds a hell of a pressure on Putin, who for 6 months, managed to keep the ones around him, (who asked for carpet bombing of Ukraine, bombing of NATO bases in Europe, mobilization, etc.) contained.

Whatever excuses Putin had to "keep it low" no longer stand.
