Russia DENIES "Space-Based Weaponry" Claim; Says "Trick" to get Ukraine Funding

The Kremlin has shot down claims it wants to put nuclear weapons in space and claims it is a 'trick' by the U.S. to get more money for weapons for Ukraine.

Moscow claimed the ominous warning that Vladimir Putin wants to take out satellites is a 'malicious fabrication', but wouldn't go into details about any plan.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he would not comment on the substance of the reports until the details were unveiled by the White House.

But he said Washington's warning was clearly an attempt to get Congress to approve more cash to send to Volodymyr Zelensky to fight Russian troops.

'It is obvious that the White House is trying, by hook or by crook, to encourage Congress to vote on a bill to allocate money, this is obvious,' he told reporters.

'We'll see what tricks the White House will use.'

It emerged on Wednesday evening that Washington believed Russia was advancing plans to deploy a space-based nuclear weapon.

The potential goal was to use it to knock out Western satellites.
