An extremely serious action has taken place between the US and Russia . . . . They have __ N E V E R __ before used this type of blunt language.
Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a terse and blunt statement today - unusual for a Saturday -- over new "Sanctions" imposed on Friday by the illegitimate Biden Regime.
The United States on Friday announced new sanctions targeting Russia’s energy sector and its “shadow fleet” of oil tankers in what could be a final attempt by the Biden administration to cripple the Russian economy in response to Moscow’s war in Ukraine. (HT REMARK: Light a fuse for actual, kinetic, war before they leave office, and let the bomb they planted go off under President Trump?)
President Biden has been cautious in his approach to sanctions on Russia’s energy sector out of concern that shutting off its exports would send gasoline prices surging around the world. But U.S. officials said healthier global oil supplies and the easing of inflation presented an opportunity to exert more pressure on Russia’s oil industry as the war approaches its fourth year.
Despite a coordinated effort by Western allies to economically punish Moscow for its actions, the Russian economy has avoided the collapse that many economists predicted.
More than 180 oil-carrying vessels that are suspected to be part of a shadow fleet utilized by the Kremlin to evade oil sanctions as well as traders, oil field service firms and Russian energy officials are also targeted by the new sanctions. Several of the vessels targeted are also suspected of shipping sanctioned Iranian oil, according to the Treasury Department.
The moves from the Biden administration will put the onus on the Trump administration to decide whether to enforce the sanctions. Senior Biden administration officials demurred when asked if the sanctions were discussed with President-elect Donald J. Trump’s transition team but said they expected the measures to provide the next administration with additional leverage over Russia to negotiate an end to the war.
Russia is clearly very upset and in a rare, terse, blunt, statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry said:
"Washington's hostile actions will not go unanswered. This is an attempt to damage the Russian economy, even at the risk of destabilizing world markets. As for the next US president, who cannot lift sanctions without Congress' approval, he will inherit a "scorched earth."
Readers are reminded that it was economic sanctions, imposed by the United States upon Japan, that caused Japan to launch a ferocious military attack against the US by bombing the US Navy port at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941.
Economic Sanctions cause shooting wars.
This time, though, the adversary is far superior to Japan and has an entire fleet of submarines off the US Atlantic Coast, the US Gulf Coast, and the US Pacific coast.
If Russia decides they've had enough of US meddling with their economic affairs, Russia could order those submarines to launch and hit the continental United States so fast, our military would not even have time to launch missile defenses.
It seems clear to many observers that the Biden Regime is actually trying to start a shooting war with Russia, and has been trying since before the Russia-Ukraine conflict erupted in February, 2022.
Russia chooses its words VERY carefully when it issues public statements. So their decision to say that our incoming President ". . . will inherit a scorched earth" is a brutally blunt and terrifyingly terse statement, because Russia can actually do it.
This coming week could mark the commencing of a shooting war between the US and Russia.
Their country has fully supplied and sticked bomb shelters for 40 Million of their people. The United States has . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . NONE.
If there is an all-out war with the Russians, THEY survive. We . . . . . . do not.
