You have to see the hate e-mail I'm getting for locking down the news stories to subscribers only! The freeloaders are literally having temper tantrums!
The most virulent hatred is coming from people who, for years, NEVER ONCE donated to the fund-raising, and NEVER ONCE had a subscription. Takers, the whole lot of them.
You folks saw the numbers for years: Tens-of-thousands of people came here to read news stories. Then, when the monthly fund-raising took place, it was a struggle to get even 200 donors.
Tens-of-thousands of readers every day, but maybe 200 donors a month.
So I locked the site and will now only serve folks who subscribe for a dollar a week.
Well, you'd think I was Satan incarnate according to some of these people . . . . vicious emails . . . .
I told one guy, "It's simple. If you pay the one dollar a week, you can have my work. If you don't, you can't."
And THAT . . . is the be all and end all of this situation.
Serving the general public has proved to be a fools errand. I do all the work, get all the costs, they give nothing.
