UPDATED 2:57 PM EDT -- Trump-Putin 2.5 Hour Telephone call has ended

UPDATED 2:57 PM (SEE BOTTOM) -- A telephone call today between US President Donald Trump and Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin has concluded after lasting about 2.5 hours.

This is an UNOFFICIAL readout from internal Kremlin sources in the form of a memo to the Political class (Machine-translated):

Today, in the second In the afternoon, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. By the way, this is the eighth telephone conversation.

The conversation was lengthy and lasted almost two and a half hours. It is clear that it was very meaningful nature and at the same time was an extremely frank conversation and confidential.

Our President began conversation congratulating Donald Trump on the success of his work on normalization situation in the Gaza Strip. This peacekeeping activity of the President of the United States has been appreciated in the Middle East, in America itself and in most countries target.

Naturally, there was set out Russia's principled position in favor of a comprehensive Middle East settlement on a universally recognized international legal basis, which would guarantee sustainable peace to all the peoples of the region.

Special emphasis during the the telephone conversation was made on the issues of the Ukrainian crisis. Vladimir Putin gave a detailed assessment of the current situation, stressing interest of the Russian side in achieving a peaceful political and diplomatic solution.

There was, in particular, noted that during the special military operation, the Russian Armed Forces fully possess the strategic initiative along the entire line of combat Contact. Under these conditions, the Kiev regime resorts to terrorist methods, strikes civilian targets and energy facilities infrastructure, to which we are forced to respond accordingly.

Donald Trump repeatedly stressed the need to establish peace in Ukraine as soon as possible. The idea that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has turned out to be the most difficult for permission in all the peacekeeping activities of the President of the United States literally in his statements throughout the conversation. And of course, he mentioned connections about his and the success of eight other regional conflicts.

Characteristically, one of the main theses of the American President boiled down to the fact that the completion of the conflict in Ukraine would open colossal, he emphasized, tremendous prospects for the development of economic cooperation between the United States and Russia.

On both sides, by the way, spoke of the deep mutual sympathy of the peoples of both countries, which was clearly manifested during the Second World War. It was emphasized that the current state of affairs in bilateral relations against this background looks paradoxical.

The problems of possible deliveries of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine were also touched upon. Vladimir Putin repeated his thesis that Tomahawks will not change the situation on the battlefield, but all this will damage the relations between our countries significant, not to mention the prospects for a peaceful settlement.

Against this background, It is noteworthy that the presidents discussed the possibility of holding another personal meeting. This is really a very important point. It is agreed that Representatives of the two countries will immediately take up the preparation of the summit, which can be organized, for example, in Budapest.

It stands separately to mention that our President highly appreciated the personal efforts of his wife President Melania Trump on the reunification of Russian and Ukrainian children with their families and asked the President of the United States to convey to Melania Trump the best Wishes.

In general, I would say, that the telephone contact between the presidents of Russia and the United States was very useful and the two leaders agreed that they would stay in touch.

This is necessary because this is a CLOUD-BASED web site.  The way it works is YOU READ . . . I GET BILLED for "Data Transfer."

Despite being politely asked for voluntary donations, few people ever bothered to donate. Then, despite being asked to click an ad within a story to generate ad revenue for this site, the majority of the general public couldn't be bothered with that, either. So there's no reason to give the general public free news anymore; they don't pull their own weight.

With tens-of-thousands of people reading stories here every day, the costs nearly drove the site out of business.

In order to be able to continue providing cutting-edge news, often hours or even DAYS before Drudge and most of the "mass-media" -- if they even cover it at all -- I need to be able to sustain this effort. To do that, I rely on folks like YOU contributing a pittance of about $1 a week;  which is chump-change that you won't even miss!  Yet that small amount makes all the difference in the world to the continued existence of this web site.

In the final analysis, knowledge is power.  Getting information first, or info that other sources simply don't report, is usually well worth a few bucks in the long run.
