U.S. Deploys B-1b "Lancer" Strategic Bombers to Japan

For the first time since the Vietnam War, the United States is deploying heavy bomber aircraft to Japan.

B-1b "Lancer" strategic bombers began arriving in Japan today due to "tensions in the Pacific."   Read that to mean China.

These Strategic Heavy Bombers are with the U.S. Air Force’s 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, based at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.  They arrived at Misawa Air Base in Northern Japan in support of a “Bomber Task Force” deployment under Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC).
