Trade talks between the United States and Switzerland have collapsed.
The discussions have ended (for the day) and it is not known if they will resume.
At Midnight Eastern US time, thirty-nine percent (39%) Tariff will be applied by the United States on all products shipped-in from Switzerland.
Switzerland’s President Karin Keller-Sutter, pictured above, and other top officials traveled to Washington on Tuesday to try to convince Trump that the measure — among the highest from the Trump administration — was too much and could cut profits for famed Swiss industries like chocolates and watchmaking.
Despite two days of intense negotiations, President Trump declined to alter the Tariff Rate against Switzerland.
