Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov has told the Financial Times of London "The main events of the Ukrainian counteroffensive have not yet come. When it happens, you'll see it all. Everyone will see everything"
Reznikov said the main reserves and forces of the Ukrainian army, including most Western-trained brigades equipped with NATO tanks and armored vehicles, have not yet been involved in military operations.
The Ukrainian defense minister also referred to the July 11-12 NATO summit in Lithuania, acknowledging that it is difficult for Ukraine to join NATO while the war lasts.
"We understand that during the conflict it is unlikely that a unanimous political decision will be taken, although it is possible to send a clear message and formulate a clear intention," Reznikov said.
The Ukrainian military claims to have recaptured about 130 square kilometers of land, but the Russians control about 604,000 square kilometers.
Russia claims that since June 4, when the Ukrainian counteroffensive began, the Ukrainians have counted more than 13,000 dead soldiers and lost 259 tanks and 780 armored vehicles.

I say that because, for the past three weeks or so since the "Counter-Offensive" began, all I've seen are smashed, blown-up and burning Ukrainian tanks, Infantry Fighting Vehicles, and Armored Personnel Carriers (supplied by the West.)
For all of the West's technology, electronic eavesdropping, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Satellites, Encrypted Communications systems, guns, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, air defense systems, Mercenaries, and billions of Dollars/Euros in cash, Russia seems to just continue beating the living shit out Ukraine.
In fact, this entire conflict would have been over months ago, and countless lives saved, had the West merely minded its own business. That said, going even further, this whole conflict would have been totally AVOIDED had the West minded its own business.
All the people who died in Ukraine, have died because of the West's arrogance and meddling. The West simply would not accept that putting US Missile Defenses into Ukraine was a Red Line for Russia.
Instead, the West recanted on its promise that NATO would "not expand even one inch eastward" which is what they promised in 1990-91 and began surrounding Russia with NATO members, NATO Troops and NATO Missiles. Russia got tired of it and said "no more."
Now, the West - in its arrogance - thinks it can force the issue. It cannot. That gets proved on the battlefield every day.
So if the Ukraine Defense Minister thinks there is any hope for his little shitbox country and its always-coming-but-never-arrives "Counter-Offensive" he should get his head out of his ass and look at reality. Ukraine has lost. Period. Full stop.
