Ukraine has NO natural gas in storage and urgently needs to get some to keep homes heated and power plants operating.
"Ukrainian gas storage facilities are empty: urgent gas import is needed" according to the former head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Makogon.
Makogon noted that Ukraine never had such minimal gas reserves and against this background, the Naftogaz group must begin importing in February.
An interesting point is that in the summer the company could buy gas for import at $300-350 per thousand cubic meters, and now it will buy somewhere at $500-550.
