Wide-Area-Volcanic Eruption - Iceland

Wide-Area-Volcanic Eruption - Iceland

After weeks of earthquakes, ground deformation, split roads, and wrecked homes, a restless volcano beneath Iceland roared to life about an hour ago, with a VERY LARGE magma eruption over a unusually large area.

The eruption, shown in the image above, is taking place in Grindavic on Iceland.

It is VERY unusual for a volcano to erupt over such a large,  long, narrow, area as opposed through a central mouth or Caldera; yet that's what's now happening.

Details are sparse right now,  check back for updates.
