I have been advised that Radio Miami International (radio station WRMI) has restored one of two transmitters that carry my show; this one on frequency 7730 KHz. They were knocked out by Hurricane Milton.
The antenna arrays for the 13 other transmitters are being inspected by engineers before the high-power transmitters are turned back on. Those transmitters are 100,000 watts (or more) each, and it would be reckless to simply turn them on without having engineers test that the antennas are OK.
I was told that last night, there was arcing of some of the long wire antennas as they were being blown around by the hurricane. Then the power went out. So it may take another couple days, but the folks at WRMI are working diligently to restore the entire International broadcasting station.
The station, and _some_ of its antenna field, is shown in the image above.
As always, my show can still be heard on WBCQ on both 7490 and 6160 KHz, and on WWCR on 7520 KHz.
UPDATE 10-11-2024
Last night just before my show began airing at 9:00 PM eastern US Time, I got word from WRMI that their transmitter on 5950 had been returned to active service after Hurricane Milton.
Now, both high-power transmitters that carry my show are back in service.
"Great Job" to the folks at WRMI.
