Big Snow for Northeast Today and Sunday

Big Snow for Northeast Today and Sunday

A large weather system is moving northeast into the New York City/New Jersey Area Saturday morning, heading into the New Jersey/New York City area which will bring the first plowable snow since February of the year 2022.

As of 9:45 AM, the snow has not yet reached New Jersey, but it is already impacting south-central Pennsylvania.

Here in the metropolitan New York City area (where I live) a rain/snow line will develop along the coast, making snow totals difficult to forecast.   Right now, the National Weather Service is telling us to expect a "trace to 1" in the five boroughs of New York City, 1"-3" in far northeastern New Jersey (where I am) but 6-12 inches to the west of us in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where my mom's house is located.

The storm is slow moving.  Snow is expected to begin here in the NYC area around 3:00 PM and last into Sunday morning.
