Continuing Resolution for Budget Contains Section to QUASH Subpoenas in ANY Court for House Member e-mails

The Continuing Resolution (CR) to continue government operations until the new Budget is officially adopted, contains a Section which would make Congressional E-mails off-limits to LEGAL PROCESS.  Think "January 6 Committee . . . Crimes."

Within the CR is a section that allows them to "quash or modify any legal process...if compliance with the legal process would require the disclosure of House data...

"House data = "any electronic mail or other electronic or data communication"

They're also applying this section to any pending matters.

Basically if somebody was trying to subpoena emails of a member of congress because of a potential crime or something, this would allow them to quash such a subpoena.

So it appears, on its surface, that Congress is trying to insulate themselves from LEGAL PROCESS that could prove they've committed crimes, by making all "House Data" beyond a court subpoena;  even a Grand Jury Subpoena in a criminal matter!

Why is this included in a spending bill? Why are they trying to make this a thing at all?

WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?

Whoever had this put into the CR is a very powerful person.  The CR is a "must-pass" Bill otherwise the government shuts down for lack of approved funding.  Who is it that's trying to hide what they did via email?

Pelosi?  The Whole January 6 Select Committee?
