Reports: C-17 Aircraft Engine "Fell Off" Near Detroit; Emergency Declared

We are receiving reports that a US military aircraft, reported to be a C-17, suffered an alleged fall off of an engine, in the skies near Detroit, MI.   Word is that the crew has declared an in-flight emergency and is attempting to land.

The aircraft CAN fly despite losing an engine.
