Unusually High Winds Here in NYC Area Today - Freakish!

I woke up this morning to unusually high winds outside.  Heard them howling through our partially-open bedroom window during the night.  We generally keep the window open about half an inch just to get fresh air in while we sleep, otherwise in the morning, the bedroom is hot.  Not today!

The National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning for this area yesterday, saying we should expect winds 35-40mph, with gusts to 50. It was already windy when they issued that warning.  But today, it's worse.  Today they warn the gusts are around 60 MPH.

I was outside smoking a cigarette and the wind seemed "freakish" to me.  Too blustery.  Not normal at all.

And HIGH winds!  They blew the metal bowl of our yard firepit out of its base and up against the backyard wall.  They blew open the doors to the freezers we have out there.

Blew the lid off the garbage can.

I'm telling ya, I'm surprised we still have electricity here at our house in North Bergen.

Weird.
