Everyone here at the Turner house is sick, including me.
It started over the weekend with my wife and son. Son has some sort of sinus issue; dried-out at top of nose. Clogged, but nothing comes out when he blows his nose.
Wife mentioned a slight sore throat on Sunday and started getting chills Sunday night. Took her temperature and she was running a fever 101.9 Off to bed she went.
On Monday, I started with a slight sore throat.
Tuesday, it was all worse for all of us, but wife got hit hardest.
She called the Doctor. He called back Tuesday morning and prescribed Levafloxicin antibiotic. My son picked that up from the CVS on his way home from work Tuesday evening, and she took the first pill.
By Tuesday night, around the time of my radio show, my wife is sitting in the Dining room shaking. I asked, what's wrong? She replied, I'm freezing. It was 74 degrees in the house.
Took her temperature and her fever was back, only higher: 102.3
Gave her one (1) Aleve around 8:30. Put her to bed to keep warm even though it was stiflingly warm in the house. Did my show. Mentioned on the air that we were all feeling sick.
Around 10:00 last night, after last night's show, wife calls out from bedroom "I need help."
I go in, she's trying to get out of bed, but is so weak, she can't stand up. She's sweating a lot. Lots of trouble breathing.
We get her up, she comes out to the Dining room, sits down, and is in really bad shape.
We take temp and it is up to 102.9
We give her a second Aleve to hit the fever.
She's coughing, a heavy, phlemy, deep, cough. I'm starting to get worried.
I ask her if she wants to go to the hospital because it really looked serious to me. She replies with a resounding "NO!"
I was glad because we both know they would only do their stupid COVID test, then, if the non-accurate test they use came back positive, they would invoke a protocol that seems to us to be designed to KILL HER. Frankly, we don't trust Doctors anymore since this COVID nonsense.
I asked if she has used her Albuterol inhaler, she says "no" and I suggest she use it. She agreed and did.
By 12:30 (after midnight) last night, the second Aleve was starting to hit the fever; down to 101.6. She looks and feels much better. Breathing much better as well.
I, however, am really feeling the sore throat, and my muscles are hurting - like Myalgia from a fever. That deep "I'm sick" muscle ache . . . . Even in the backs of my lower legs (calfs) was aching!
I take two Motrin, swig a capful of Robitussin cough medicine because the cough is coming back and my lungs are wheezing. I took a scoop of LAURICIDIN, the coconut-derived over the counter supplement. If this is a lipid-envelope virus, the LAURICIDIN will be absorbed by the lipid envelope, causing it to swell, and thereby be too fat to open and infect other cells. It kinda stops a lipid-enveloped virus in its tracks. Once the envelope swells, the internal RNA virus can't get out of the envelope into other cells. The lipid envelope is too fat (from swelling) to open. It's useless, and my immune system will go after it like any other invader, but at least it can't infect elsewhere. Later, the lipid envelope begins to literally fall apart, the internal RNA falls out into the blood stream, and that's it, it's done. White blood cells attack that RNA and it's over.
Around 1:00 AM we went to bed.
I'm up this morning, throat is still sore, but not as bad as yesterday. No cough. No wheezing. Still achy, though.
Wife is still sleeping.
Son left for work.
Arrrggggghhhhhh. Tough day today, I think.
I have to go to Motor Vehicles this afternoon to have the Lienholder info taken off my car titles.
. . . . life has to go on.
