The main two commanders of the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Syria, the head of the Iranian Intelligence service in Syria, his deputy, and another two Iranian commanders, along with other Syrian nationals were killed by an Israeli strike this morning, pictured above.
This is unrelated to the ongoing hostilities in Gaza.
The IRGC has confirmed that four of its advisers have been killed as a result of the airstrike in Syria and they are: Hojatollah Omidvar, Ali Aqazadeh, Hossein Mohammadi, and Saeed Karimi.
Haj Sadegh, also known as Yousef Omidzadeh, is actually Hojatollah Omidvar. His name was mentioned back in June in a Washington post piece where he was accused to have “identified U.S. Humvee and Cougar armored vehicles in Syria” as the intended targets and spoke of dispatching unidentified operatives to take reconnaissance photos of roads traveled by U.S. forces, according to classified intelligence reports.
