United States forces in Iraq are presently under attack at the Ain Al-Asad air base.  At least seventeen (17) rocket impacts have detonated inside the base.   There are injuries.

Al-Asad Airbase is an Iraqi Armed Forces base located in al-Anbar Governorate of western Iraq. It was originally known as Qadisiyah Airbase. It was the second largest US military airbase in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

UPDATE 2:44 PM EST --

The reported use of Ballistic Missiles against U.S. Forces at Al-Asad Air Base in Western Iraq by what appears to have been Iranian-Backed Forces,  "is a Massive Escalation" and is likely seen by U.S. Central Command as “Crossing a Red Line”.

 

UPDATE 8:07 PM EST --

At least FORTY (40) missiles were fired at the base.  At least seventeen (17) got through and made impact.   Numerous American troops have been injured, some with Brain concussion injury from the large explosions.
