Russia Loses A-50U (AWACS-type) Plane over Krasnodar Krai

A Russian A50 aircraft was shot down in Krasnodar region of Russia yesterday.

According to Russian "military correspondents," it was a case of friendly fire and the aircraft was shot down by Russian air defense missile.

Video of the plane firing defensive flares to distract the incoming missiles is all over social media.

In the video viewers can see that one missile actually did hit one flare and explode.  But seconds later, a second missile hit the aircraft itself, and it came down like a rock.

There was also a report (single) that ANOTHER A-50 was shot down over Ukraine, but not a single further claim of that anywhere . . . .

Finally, there were additional reports that two (2) SU-24 Fighter-Bombers were shot down by Ukraine, but no further mention of THOSE either.

As such, it seems to me the shoot down of the second A-50 and the two SU-24 are questionable in accuracy.
